The Underberg Guesthouse, originally a farm house was built in 1860, when the lower mountain slopes still supported game, leopard and lynx. Lord Baden Powel and Rudyard Kipling often used to ride and walk in this area. More recently it has been used as the production centre for the feature film
"That English Woman"

The Underberg Guesthouse is known for its gracious comfortable atmosphere. There are two sitting rooms in which to relax, and two verandahs to enjoy the sun or marvel at the beauty of Table Mountain. A computer terminal keeps you to date with your world, and our library helps you to escape into another.

The nine en-suite bedrooms are well appointed, and extremely comfortable The city centre is accessible by foot. Table Mountain, V & A Waterfront, Kirstenbosch Gardens and the beautiful beaches of Camps Bay are a short drive away.
